Carroll County Historical Society Hosting Events At Four Sites Sunday

On Sunday, June 5, special events will be taking place at each of the four Carroll County Historical Society locations as they celebrate with their annual open house. At the museum, on the corner of Highway 30 and Court Street, Joan Danzer will demonstrate the art of rug making, Ellen Severin will play the organ and autoharp and at 1:15 p.m., Ray Brownlee, a World War II Navy Veteran, will talk about life-saving devices that were used during the war. At the Little Red Schoolhouse in Graham Park, Paul Bixenstine of Lake City will talk about bee keeping at 2 p.m. and Ron Cates will demonstrate Dutch-oven cooking throughout the afternoon at the Trapper’s Cabin. Rope making will be the featured event at the Farmstead Barn on the east side of Swan Lake State Park. All locations will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. and admission is free.
