Carroll County 4-H Members Recognized For Hard Work And Leadership

At a special awards rally on Sunday in Collison Hall at St. Lawrence Parish, the ten Carroll County 4-H clubs gathered to recognize the accomplishments, community service and leadership of their members. In all, 83 project awards plaques and metal bars were distributed, Carroll County Fair Club Herdsmanship awards were presented, the top five fruit and butter braid salespeople were introduced and all Cloverbuds, first and fifth-year members, were recognized. Those 4-H’ers who exhibited overall leadership and initiative were also recognized with $25 Visa gift cards and bars for their award plaques. There were six members who received this once-in-a-career recognition. Five members were selected from a group of nominations submitted by club leaders to receive awards for outstanding record keeping for the year. These winners received a $30 Visa gift card in addition to their metal bars. And, Maria Van Horn was awarded a $75 scholarship for her participation in the Carroll County 4-H Council. Awards for Outstanding Record Keeping for the 2015/2016 4-H year were also presented.  This award was given to the top five record books turned into the Extension Office by community club leaders.  This year’s recipients were:
