At Tuesday night’s Carroll City Council Meeting, the council chose the preferred option between two proposed plans from OPN Architects for the library/city hall project. City Manager, Michael Pogge-Weaver, gave a brief overview of each option available.
Option A, which moves city hall to the Commercial Savings Bank on North Adams, was approved unanimously by the council to be the city’s choice moving forward with the project. Option A’s estimated cost is just over $7.6 million. Mayor Eric Jensen says Option A was the intended outcome for the nearly one million dollar building donation.
The next step of the project will have OPN return to meet with the city at least two more times to help trim costs and determine which aspects of each building truly need renovations. OPN has offered to hold those meetings for no additional fees, excluding travel reimbursements. Dates for those meetings will be set at a later date.
