Tomorrow an all-new cafeteria space debuts at St. Anthony Regional Hospital and Nursing Home. The cafeteria, now known as Café St. Anthony, will continue to serve around 350 people every day with expanding food options which include self-serve stations and Lighter Choice menu items.
The redesigned space now features 11-foot ceilings and glass walls and a serving space located directly outside the main floor elevators. The focus on accessibility, convenience and comfort, says Food and Nutrition Director Matt Loneman, was part of the plan which has been almost a decade in the making. Loneman adds the cafeteria provides visitors, employees, patients and their families a chance to step away from a hospital setting by offering a place to relax, refuel, and recharge without ever leaving the hospital.
Construction began in the fall of 2015, and involved a complete overhaul of the space. A goal was to capture the hospitality found in the hospital’s Franciscan roots featuring warm colors, a variety of seating options, LED lighting, and multiple charging stations for electronic devices. Café St. Anthony is open to the public daily from 7:00 am to 6:45 pm.
