Burglary Charges For Glidden Man Begin To Pile Up

The Jefferson Police Department has charged 33-year-old Glenn Edward Summers of Glidden with Burglary in the 3rd Degree—a Class D Felony and Attempted Burglary—an Aggravated misdemeanor. The charges stem from an investigation that began on May 4, in which a business at 209 West Head Street was burglarized and a business at 701 North Elm Street was damaged, but entry was not gained. Summers is suspected in two other burglaries in Jefferson and future charges are expected. Carroll County authorities issued warrants for Summers and Brianna Brittain of Carroll in early May as they were suspects in a series of business burglaries in the county. On May 4, authorities in Greene, Boone and Calhoun counties joined in a search for the pair who were believed to be traveling east.  On May 10, the two were located and arrested in Webster County, but Summers managed to escape and elude local authorities for a brief time.
