Carroll area residents will get the chance to meet Governor Terry Branstad as he comes to town for a special book signing event on Tuesday, Aug. 30. He will be signing copies of his new biography, “Iowa’s Record Setting Governor: The Terry Branstad Story,” beginning at 5:15 p.m. at Des Moines Area Community College. The author, Mike Chapman, spent nearly two years gathering details of Branstad’s life and work, interviewing more than 40 people and reading more than 1,000 newspaper articles to prepare for penning the biography. Following the book signing, Branstad will hold a combination meet-and-greet/fundraiser for the Carroll County Republican Party at Santa Maria Winery. He will be joined by State Representative, Brian Best, at 5:30 p.m. The meet-and-greet will be open to the public until 7 p.m.
