This year marks the 57th season of the Bill Riley Talent Search, and a full slate of shows are scheduled across the state. The local competitions are open to performers from the age of two to 21, with the top two from each show moving on to compete on the Bill Riley Stage at the Iowa State Fair. Area shows will get underway this month at the Charter Oak Quasquicentennial celebration on June 18. In July, shows will be held at the Carroll County Fair in Coon Rapids on July 7; the Shelby County Fair in Harlan on July 15; the Lake View Water Carnival on July 16; the Crawford County Fair in Denison on July 20; and in Sac City at the Sac County Fair on July 28.
