Iowa House Representative for District 12, Brian Best, today (Tuesday) filed his nomination papers to the Secretary of State’s office to seek re-election this fall. Best, a Republican, was born and raised near Glidden and graduated from Glidden-Ralston High School. In 2001, he and his wife, Sharon, opened Bestmed Respiratory in Carroll, and in 2005, they opened Western Iowa Sleep. Best was first elected in 2014 and currently serves on the Transportation, Economic Growth, Human Resources, Natural Resources and Health and Human Services Budget Committees. As of this airing, the Secretary of State’s Website does not show any other candidates have filed for the Republican or the Democratic Parties in District 12. The filing deadline for state and federal offices is 5 p.m. Friday, March 18.
