Bakken Protesters Take Fight To Wells Fargo Branch

The fight against construction of the Bakken Pipeline continues as nearly 75 protesters marched on the downtown Des Moines branch of Wells Fargo Monday. In a showing of solidarity with the Standing Rock Tribe on National Indigenous People’s Day, protesters delivered a letter to CEO, John Stupf, demanding Wells Fargo cancel loans for the Dakota Access pipeline. One member of the group who wished to remain anonymous, closed his account with the bank during Monday’s rally saying, “I will not support a financial institution that invests in the destruction of our planet.” He also urged anyone holding accounts with Wells Fargo, Bank of America, US Bank, CITI Bank or HSBC Bank to move their money.
