Bacon Lovers Unite: ISU Bacon Expo Tickets Go On Sale Tomorrow

Bacon isn’t just for breakfast anymore, and Iowa State University is getting ready to tempt those bacon-loving taste buds at the fourth annual Bacon Expo, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Hansen Agricultural Learning Center in Ames. Tickets go on sale tomorrow (Thursday) for this family-friendly event that welcomed over 1,200 attendees last year. This years’ theme “Ba-con (noun) pure happiness” is modeled after a dictionary definition entry and compliments the Bacon Expo efforts to educate the public on swine production and Iowa’s pork industry. To coordinate with their theme and the goal of educating, a portion of this year’s proceeds will be donated to the Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA). Patricia M. Lillie, President of LDA, said they are pleased to have been selected and that this support will help provide more resources and training to teachers to utilize learning disability teaching strategies and to advocate for children with learning disabilities. In addition to the monetary donation, the Bacon Expo will once again donate leftover bacon from the event to Food at First in Ames. Tickets will be available online by following the link below or can be purchased at the door the day of the event.
