Arrest Made For Theft And Damage To Greene County Secondary Roads Vehicle

The Jefferson Police Department worked in conjunction with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office on the report of the theft of a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado from a residence at 206 West Russel Street in Jefferson at approximately 6:19 a.m. yesterday (Thursday). The vehicle is owned by the Greene County Secondary Roads Department and was located by employees near Goose Lake, north of Jefferson. The vehicle had been severely damaged and was deemed a total loss. Deputies and officers conducted interviews after gathering evidence from the vehicle and identified 19-year-old Kevin Armando Montoya of Jefferson as a suspect. Montoya was arrested and charged with : theft in the first degree, a class C felony; first-degree criminal mischief, a class C felony; driving while revoked, a serious misdemeanor; and theft in the fifth degree, a simple misdemeanor.
