Area Agencies Receiving Grant Funds To Aid Homeless

Thirty-two agencies across Iowa will be benefiting from more than $2.3 million in homeless assistance grants from the Iowa Finance Authority. The purpose of the grant program is to help Iowans and their families quickly regain stability in permanent housing after experiencing a housing crisis or homelessness and to help persons experiencing homelessness to quickly move back into stable, long-term housing. Assistance comes in many forms, including emergency shelters, street outreach, homelessness prevention and rapid re-housing. Providers in the area receiving a portion of the funding for these programs include the Crisis Intervention and Advocacy Center for Audubon and Guthrie Counties, Domestic Sexual Assault Outreach Center in Greene County, Family Crisis Centers in Calhoun, Carroll, Crawford and Sac Counties, Micah House in Crawford County and Assault Care Center Extending Shelter and Support of Greene County.
