Ar-We-Va Welcomes New Administrators And Enters Into More Partial-Grade Sharing For Upcoming School Year

One of the biggest changes the Ar-We-Va Community School District saw over the summer was the resignation of Superintendent and Principal, Kurt Brosomle, and appointment of Jeff Kruse to fill the Superintendent spot. Kruse, who is also sharing duties with South Central Calhoun and Laurens-Marathon said he would not be able to cover all of Brosomle’s duties, and another administrator was brought on board.

Other staff changes include a couple of new elementary instructors and a new music teacher. Ar-We-Va will begin implementing the Teacher Leadership Program this fall, but Kruse says they have not yet outlined how the current instructor’s roles will change. Kruse, whose time needs to be split between three school districts, says he has re-thought his original scheduling plans.

Kruse added that in addition to the preparation of the building and grounds, the district underwent an equity audit last year. This visit from the Department of Education resulted in some required improvements to the Westside building.

Ar-We-Va has also entered into a partial-day sharing agreement with Carroll for the high school students.

Ar-We-Va’s registration is at the school on Thursday, Aug. 11, beginning at 8 a.m. High school students will have also have orientation on the 11th, with seniors at 1 p.m., Juniors at 1:45 p.m., Sophomores at 2:30 p.m. and Freshmen at 3 p.m. Teachers will return for in-services Wednesday, Aug. 17, and students will start classes on Wednesday, Aug. 24.
