National and state anti-human trafficking experts will be gathering for a forum Friday, Aug. 26 at the Des Moines University Student Education Center Auditorium from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. The discussion is designed to act as a guide for medical professionals, first responders and the public at large in recognizing and combatting human trafficking. Panelists include: former Iowa Assistant U.S. Attorney and Nebraska’s Human Trafficking Coordinator, Stephen O’Meara; Staca Shahen, Case Analysis Division Director for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children; and Anna Brewer, a former FBI special agent with expertise in Iowa human trafficking cases.
