All Eight Counties In Western Iowa Advantage Region See Decreased Unemployment

Iowa Workforce Development has released the unemployment rates in the Western Iowa Advantage Region for November, showing a very slight, one-tenth percent increase to 3.1 over November in 2015. In the eight-county region, each and every county saw a decrease in their unemployment numbers from October to November of 2016. Ida County dropped from 2.6 to 2 percent while Audubon and Greene Counties both reported 2.1 percent, Audubon down from 3.3 last October and Greene down from 2.8 percent. Carroll was down from 3 percent last month to 2.2 percent and Adair recorded a drop from 2.7, landing at 2.2 percent as well. Sac County moved from 2.9 to 2.3 percent and Guthrie saw just short of a full percentage point move from 3.5 to 2.6 percent. Crawford County is still recording the highest unemployment rates in the region, but were also down from 4.9 percent in October to 4.4 percent for November.
