Four people were taken to the hospital following a single vehicle accident about 1.5 miles southwest of Exira on Wednesday night. At approximately 9:45 pm 15 year-old Aaron Allen of Elk Horn was traveling west on Kingbird Avenue, and as he attempted to follow the curve in the road, heading south, the vehicle hit soft, loose, and wet gravel which caused the 2000 Oldsmobile Allen was driving to slide straight into the west ditch. The vehicle then rolled onto its roof coming to a rest on its top. Allen, along with his passengers: 14 year-old Danielle Bowlin of Harlan, 14 year-old Damian Peterson, and 15 year-old Destiny Dawson both of Exira, were all transported to Audubon County Memorial Hospital by Exira Rescue. Damage to the vehicle was unknown, and Allen has been charged with Failure to Maintain Control and Violation of a Restricted School License.
