This Saturday will mark the 34th Annual Kuemper Cross Country Invitational. Kuemper Catholic Schools President, John Steffes says this is a big event that takes a lot of work from students, staff and volunteers from both Kuemper and Carroll Community Schools in this joint program.
The logistics of organizing and running this event means that many of the volunteers will be going to work before 6 a.m. on Saturday morning to prepare for the first race at 9 a.m. Steffes said the 25 teams and nearly 850 participants and their fans bring an economic benefit to the community as well.
He added that the shared program also highlights another way that Carroll is set apart from many other communities.
Saturday’s Kuemper Invitational Cross Country meet will be held at Swan Lake State Park south of Carroll.
