On Wednesday, Jan. 20, 17 Glidden-Ralston youth completed Ricochet 1: Extreme Leadership Adventure, a program developed by Iowa State University and Extension Youth Development staff in partnership with the Glidden-Ralston Community School, Cheryl Rohrbeck and Julie Leonard. In this lively and energetic leadership program, the participants build skills through a variety of hands-on games and activities that are part of the five dimensions of leadership, which include: leadership information; leadership attitude; communication; decision making; and stress management. Participants are asked to invite community leaders to join them in a panel discussion to share their experiences and provide advice on being a leader. The program culminates in the completion of their chosen community leadership project. This group of 17 held a food drive for the Carroll Community of Concern Food Pantry.
