Tomorrow (Thursday, June 30), will mark the beginning of the 15th all-member meeting of the Iowa Governor’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Advisory Council. The meeting, which is open to the public will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Sheraton West Des Moines Hotel with the executive committee discussing budget and programming opportunities. The all-member meeting will get underway at 10 a.m. Roosevelt High School’s Roughrider Rootbeer Company, along with Confluence Brewery, will share how participating in an Iowa STEM Teacher Externship led to an exemplary and profitable school/business partnership. Other working groups will present throughout the day. STEM Council co-chairs, Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds and CEO of Kemin Industries, Dr. Chris Nelson, will open and close the meeting.
