Three Carroll Teenagers Injured In Rollover Accident

Three teenagers sustained minor injuries in a single-vehicle, rollover accident that occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. this morning (Monday). The Carroll County Sheriff’s office reported to the scene, 100 yards north of Walnut Ave. and the intersection with 210th Street, west of Ralston to find a 2000 GMC Envoy that had been driven by 18-year-old Chelsie Ann-Maude Burnett of Carroll in the ditch, but no one present at the scene. The deputy reported a strong odor of alcohol coming from the inside of the vehicle and a small amount of blood on the passenger seat. A report of the first injured individual arriving by private vehicle to St. Anthony Regional Hospital came in at approximately 3:16 a.m. After an initial investigation, it was determined that Burnett had lost control of the vehicle, entered the south ditch and rolled. Burnett and two passengers in the vehicle, 18-year-old Emily Nicole Staert of Carroll and 18-year-old Micaela Jean Bretey of Carroll all suffered minor injuries in the accident and were treated at St. Anthony Regional Hospital. Burnett was cited for Failure to Maintain Control and her vehicle was determined to be a total loss.
