For the fourth time in the past five years, Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City has been named to the Des Moines Register’s Top Work Places in Iowa. Ranking in the top 22 for mid-size employers in Iowa is a great achievement, said SMCH Chief Executive Officer, Heather Cain. She added that hiring the very best people and providing a great place to work ensures every patient has the highest quality health care experience every time. Chief People Officer, Holly Espenhover, said that over the past year Stewart Memorial has retained 93 percent of their workforce, which means they have people who are knowledgeable, understand how to deliver high-quality patient care and enjoy being part of the SMCH family. The top workplaces are determined solely on employee feedback from surveys conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, LLP, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement. This is the fifth year the Des Moines Register has identified the top work places in Iowa.
