Rubio Wants Renewable Fuels To Sustain Without Subsidy

GOP Presidential Candidate and Florida Senator, Marco Rubio, made Carroll an early stop this morning (Monday) for a town hall meeting. As he works to grow his support base in the agricultural heartland, Rubio discussed his position on the Renewable Fuels Standard and how that hasn’t really changed.

He said he would also like to equalize tax codes so that all industries are treated fairly and are able to immediately expense any investments. This, he says, will help them become more sustainable without government programs. One way Rubio believes businesses can improve sustainability is through global trade, particularly agricultural products and commodities.  His initial reaction to the Trans-Pacific Partnership is that it will be a trade agreement benefitting all Americans.

Since the agreement is staggering at nearly 6,000 pages long, he wants to spend more time on a careful review.

Rubio will be focusing on the complex issues in the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement including those dealing with intellectual property before he makes the final decision on which way he will vote.
