The unemployment rate for the Western Iowa Advantage eight-county region has decreased nearly a full point since 2014, down to 2.7 percent in October from 3.5 percent this same time last year. Once again, Carroll County reported the lowest rate at 2.3 percent with Adair at 2.5, Greene and Sac at 2.6 and Guthrie and Ida Counties coming in at 2.7 percent. Audubon County reported 2.9 percent and Crawford County’s unemployment rose to 3.1 percent. The Iowa unemployment rate for October was 3.5 percent, down from 4.6 percent in October of 2014.
