National 4-H Week: Carroll County 4-H chapters celebrate with daily themes

Growing confidence, creativity, curiosity, courage, character, and more are just some of the goals for youth who participate in 4-H. This week marks National 4-H Week across the country and Iowa’s young people will celebrate with activities and learning programs. Carroll County 4-H’ers celebrate each day with a designated theme and today (Monday) is Model Monday with 4-H members encouraged to show their 4-H pride by wearing their t-shirts. Tomorrow is Try-it-Out Tuesday with kids checking in on their fellow member’s projects in order to possibly pique their own interests in something new. Once that inspiration takes root 4-H members can then devote time on Working Wednesday to their passions tackling crafts projects, looking over livestock, or starting a new project. On Thank you Thursday members are asked to write a thank you to their 4-H leaders, volunteers, and others who have helped them along their journeys, and on Tell A Friend Friday members are encouraged to share their experiences in 4-H with those who might be interested in joining. The end of National 4-H Week is marked by Service Saturday when everyone is encouraged to participate in a Community Service Project either with their club or on their own. All 99 counties in Iowa have active 4-H chapters and to learn more about the Carroll County 4-H Club contact Youth Coordinator, Andrea Irlbeck at 712-792-2364.
