Kuemper High School Principal Penny Miller Announces Retirement

Kuemper Catholic School is announcing that High School Principal, Penny Miller, will be retiring at the end of the current school year. Miller, who submitted her resignation to the Kuemper Board of Education last night, said she has been honored to lead Kuemper and see the many changes that have taken place. She is confident that the school is in great shape with new, young leadership. Miller, who has been on the Kuemper staff for 14 years says she and her husband Ed have grown so much in their Catholic faith since moving to Carroll. It is a new chapter in their life now as she looks forward to spending time with her two grown children and their families who live in Des Moines and Indianapolis. They will have the freedom to travel and visit new grandbabies arriving in the spring. Kuemper President, John Steffes, says Penny will be missed, and there were many duties she faithfully carried out in the public eye, and many more she did behind the scenes. He added she has been instrumental in enhancing the faith life of students and families, in advancing Kuemper’s academic rigor and co-curricular activities. Many alumni are proud to say she was their principal. The search for a new high school principal will begin in December. We will bring you more from Miller in an upcoming broadcast.
