The Iowa Democratic Party’s caucus chairs and vice-chairs, local affirmative action chairs and leadership will be holding their first annual diversity convention Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Machinists Hall, Local 254 in Des Moines. They will be bringing together the Iowa Democrat’s diversity caucuses to discuss current outreach efforts, best practices and how they can work together to be as inclusive as possible. These include the black caucus, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, college and young democrats, disability, Latino, Native American, stonewall and veterans caucuses. The convention will follow the Iowa Democratic Party’s quarterly State Central Committee meeting taking place at the same location.
