Grassley Questions FBI Director About Obama’s Inability To Handle ISIS

Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Chuck Grassley, addressed FBI Director, James Comey, today (Wednesday) during a hearing on the Oversight of the Federal Bureau of Investigations. He said the deadly attacks in Paris last month and California last week confirm radical Islamic terrorism continues to be a threat, whether that is politically correct or convenient for President Obama. He said ISIS is determined to gain and hold territory, inspire followers and launch deadly attacks against the West, and the American people are worried; not just about terrorism, but also about our President’s inability or unwillingness to lead a strategy to destroy ISIS. Grassley says the President’s response to the attacks has been to try to divide, to deride and to distract the American people. He iterated that Islam is not our enemy, radical Islamic terrorists are, but he fears the backlash against Muslims is the public’s frustration with its leader. According to the President, radical Islamic terrorism is never to blame, said Grassley, but the constitutional right to own a gun always is, even though terrorists are not deterred by gun control. Obama’s administration is fine with allowing refugees, asylees, people on deferred action and other non-citizens who are not permanent residents to buy guns. Grassley told Comey he is looking forward to hearing what he has to say on how the FBI is going to address these issues as well as the discussions they are having with technology companies about how to overcome the growing practice of “Going Dark” with encrypted communications by terrorists.
