Glidden is one of 21 Iowa communities that will be saving a total of $1.6 million on interest on State Revolving Fund loans for water quality projects with interest rate reductions from 3 to 1.75 percent. The State Revolving Fund is one of Iowa’s primary sources for financing projects designed to improve Iowa’s water quality through two funds—one for drinking water and one for wastewater and pollution control. The program, which is jointly administered by the Iowa Finance Authority and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, is a low-cost financing option that has benefited more than 500 Iowa communities. Glidden is expected to see a total savings on loan interest of $30,037.50.
