It was so successful last year that the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa will be taking the iconic Girl Scout Cookie Program online again. The platform, called COCODirect, allows Girl Scouts to sell cookies via ecards or mobile apps and have orders shipped directly to consumers, bringing 21st Century technology to this classic taste of Americana. The Greater Iowa Council will begin taking orders for cookies on Monday, Feb. 1, and will have cookies on-hand for sale from Thursday, Feb. 12 through Sunday, March 20. All proceeds stay within the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa and the girls decide how to spend their troop cookie proceeds to reinvest in their neighborhoods through community service projects, learning experiences and travel opportunities.
