Hillary for Iowa announced yesterday (Monday) that Iowans are forming a group made up of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans and their allies who take part in grassroots events and volunteer activities. LGBT for Hillary will have Iowa members knocking on doors to speak with their neighbors, making phone calls and organizing their families and friends ahead of the Feb. 1 caucus. Supporters say, as Senator, Clinton fought for hate crimes legislation and, as Secretary of State, made sure the rights of LGBT people around the world were a priority for the United States. She will continue the fight for their rights as President. As part of the launch, Hillary for Iowa will be releasing a video featuring sixth-generation Iowan, Zach Wahls, highlighting the battles LGBT Americans have won and the fights Clinton is committed to waging on their behalf.
