Thursday at 5:00 p.m. was the deadline for filing paperwork to be included in the ballots for the Nov. 3rd election of city officials. The city of Carroll has four openings this year, three for City Council seats and the Mayoral election. Current Mayor, Adam Schweers has announced that he will not be running for another term in office, and Dr. Eric P. Jensen is the sole candidate that has filed to run for the two-year term. Tom Tait is the current council member from the second ward and has filed to run for another four year term and Misty Boes has also thrown her name into the race for that ward. For the fourth ward, incumbent Carolyn Seimann will again run for that seat, along with Barbara Toohey. And the at large position will open up, and with Jensen’s run at the mayoral spot, there are two candidates stepping forward to run for the four year term: Mike Curtis and Brandon Jon Vonnahme.
