Calling all outdoor enthusiasts; Carroll & Sac County Conservation team up for MN birding trip

The Carroll and Sac County Conservation Boards are joining together this February to once again head north with a group of outdoor enthusiasts for the 3rd Annual Minnesota Avian Adventure. Bird lovers have the potential to see various owls, grosbeaks, grouse, and possibly even a Snowy Owl. Carroll County Naturalist Matt Wetrich says a local guide will escort the group using available resources to find targeted bird species.

The trip, Wetrich stresses, isn’t just for birders though. The area also offers a multitude of furry wildlife along with panoramic views.

During the four-day trip there are also stops at various points of interest including local restaurants, tourist attractions, and nature reserves.

The trip, Wetrich adds, can make a great Christmas present for any outdoor enthusiast who might like to see something new.

The Minnesota Avian Adventure takes place February 5th through the 8th and registration includes travel by Windstar bus, hotels, food, and any entrance fees for visited locations. To register, or for more information, contact Wetrich at the Carroll County Conservation Center at 712-792-4614 or via email at matt[at]carrollcountyiowa.org. The registration deadline is January 5, 2016.
