A Coon Rapids woman has pled guilty to exploitation of dependent adult after using the victim’s bank card for personal expenses totaling over $1,000. According to Carroll County District Court records, 52-year-old Michelle Renee Anthofer plead guilty to one count of dependent adult abuse by a caretaker, a class D felony, after using the victim’s bank card to purchase $925 worth of merchandise from a department store and $100 on Paypal between Feb 1. And Feb. 7 of this year. A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 13 at the Carroll County Courthouse. A class D felony in Iowa carries a maximum sentence of up to five years in prison, and $10,245 in fines, along with victim restitution.
