Bill Owen, the Democratic candidate for Iowa House District 11, was one of six speakers at The River House in Coon Rapids on Friday, Sept. 18, where he spoke on issues such as Iowa’s community colleges, living wages, and the trades. Owen, who spent over two decades in education, explains the impact that experience had on him.
Owen weighs in on the creation of new community college programs, and the parameters he believes should be in place for those programs.
Owen also calls for increased exposure for students to the trades at the primary and secondary education levels.
Owen also made comments on the minimum and livable wages in Iowa.
Bill Owen is running against Republican incumbent Craig Williams for Iowa House District 11. Owen made his comments at Friday’s Democracy on Tap event at the River House in Coon Rapids.
