Lt. Gunner Gilland with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is now Chief Deputy Gilland after the Carroll County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution for his appointment at Tuesday’s meeting.
Sheriff Jon Cretsinger recommended Gilland for the position he held prior to his elevation to county sheriff, and the supervisors unanimously approved the internal promotion, making it retroactive to Sept. 2.
Gilland joined the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office in 2015 and was promoted to lieutenant in April following the retirement of longtime Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputy Lt. Tom Fransen.
