The Iowa Health Care Association (IHCA) announced last week that Iowa ranks third overall in quality awards for assisted living and nursing homes. Sixteen providers, including Rolling Meadows Senior Living in Carroll, recently received the silver rating via the Achievement in Quality Awards from the American Health Care Association (AHCA) and National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL). The total tied Iowa with Illinois for the third-highest number of Silver Award recipients nationwide, according to the Iowa Health Care Association. Silver is the second of three levels in the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program. Based on qualifying metrics, the rating system recognizes providers that demonstrate measurable improvements in care quality and organizational performance through a rigorous independent review process. Earlier this year, Iowa ranked first nationally with 57 bronze-level award recipients. The award recipients will be recognized during the Iowa Health Care Association Convention on Sept. 15 and at the AHCA/NCAL Convention & Expo in Boston on Oct. 13.
