City Of Manning Welcomes IEDA Executive Director Debi Durham Tuesday, Oct. 7

The City of Manning had a busy day on Tuesday, welcoming the Director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority, Debi Durham, to town. Durham first visited with the Manning Rotary Club and a crowd of around 75 individuals with a lunch while discussing the latest updates in economic development and potential opportunities for communities like Manning can participate in. According to Manning Rotary President Tim Weible, Durham informed attendees that Iowa is ranked number one in the country for millennial home ownership, the lowest cost for childcare, and that seven out of ten people in the United States are considering moving, and Iowa is growing in attraction. Following the lunch, city officials and guests joined Durham touring many of the community’s amenities, including: Manning City Park, the construction of a house being built by IKM-Manning students, Manning Senior Living, Manning Public Library, tours of Manning Hausbarn Heritage Park, along with Trestle Park, the Corn Maze, and the Iowa sign. Durham also toured local businesses like: Holistic Health, Totally You Boutique and the Manning Market Place. The event was hosted by the Manning Rotary Club, in partnership with the City of Manning, Manning Municipal Utilities (MMU), Manning Hausbarn-Heritage Park and Manning Area Partners.
