The Breda American Legion Family recently presented a donation to the Thomas Rest Haven (TRH) Veterans Home in Coon Rapids in support of upcoming renovations to the facility. The impetus for the donation was a countywide Legion meeting hosted there earlier this spring, with the intention of including the 21 veterans who currently reside at TRH. During that meeting, the members learned of the facility’s plans to repurpose one of the rooms to serve as a social area and activities space, and the Breda Legion Family, which includes the Breda American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion, and American Legion Riders, opted to support the effort with a $1,250 donation. Members of the Breda American Legion presented the donation earlier this month to Thomas Rest Haven staff and residents.
