CCSD Board Education Discusses Transportation Changes, Next Steps For Master Facility Plan And More During Monday Night’s Meeting

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education discussed transportation plans, reviewed the master facility plan, and more during Monday night’s meeting. The board heard from CHS Band Director Wayne Lu and students’ experience at the Worlds of Fun Music Festival in Kansas City, Mo, where the band placed second place for division and earned a district 1 rating from all three judges. Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau recognized the board for all their work over the year to celebrate School Board Recognition Month. CCSD Transportation director, Jennifer Dentlinger, was present to discuss the current bus driver situation and brought different scenarios to the board for changes for next year. DLR Principal Architect Eric Beron presented five different visuals and plans for the next step in the master facility plan, which includes retiring Adams Elementary, adding additions, and remodeling the existing buildings. In the consent agenda, board members approved agreements with Region XII, Plain Area Mental Health, and a food service director shared between CCSD and Ar-We-Va CSD. For action items, the board approved 116 graduating seniors who will walk at commencement this upcoming Sunday, starting pay and sub pay for the 2025-26 school year for staff, and quotes for various projects around buildings. The meeting finished with approving a five-year contract with Bohnsack and Frommelt for audits, bids for garbage collection, copier lease, dairy, and bread products for the food service department.
