A Rockwell City man has plead not guilty to allegedly confining an individual in her room and attempting to force her to engage in sex acts with him. According to Calhoun County District Court records, on March 30, 33-year-old Justin Clyde Thomas Honeycutt allegedly entered the victim’s home, who has a protective order in place against him, where he locked themselves in the bedroom, ripped off part of her clothing, and attempted to engage in sexual activity. Honeycutt was taken into custody and transported to the Carroll County Jail, where he remains. He is facing charges of first-degree burglary, a class B felony; third-degree kidnapping, a class C felony; assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, and assault committed by a person against a protective order, both class D felonies. A jury trial has been scheduled for June 3 at the Calhoun County Courthouse. If convicted, Honeycutt can face a maximum sentence of up to 45 years in prison and over $34,000 in fines.
