Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst will host two virtual informational nights in May for Iowa students interested in applying to U.S. military service academies. The 2025 U.S. Service Academy Virtual Informational Nights are scheduled for Monday, May 12, and Tuesday, May 13, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Each session will feature representatives from different academies and include details about the application and nomination process. The May 12 session will feature representatives from the U.S. Air Force Academy and the U.S. Naval Academy. The May 13 session will feature representatives from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. High school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, along with parents, guardians, and school counselors, are encouraged to participate. Students must secure a nomination from a member of Congress to apply. The deadline for a nomination from either senator is Oct. 24, 2025.
