CCSD Board Of Education Reviewed Master Facility Plan To see What Next Steps Would Be For Current Buildings During Monday’s Work Session

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education met with architect firm DLR Group to review the district’s master facility plan and look at the next steps for current buildings in the upcoming years. DLR Principal Architects Eric Beron and Andrew Van Leeuwen discussed with the board the preliminary plans that were first brought up in 2021-2022 after they assessed all buildings and identified the needs of current structures. The first recommendation from DLR Group was to construct a new transportation facility, which is currently in the works with groundwork and will be completed in October of this year. Board members viewed different scenarios that could be completed, agreeing the next step would be to move third and fourth grade out of the Adams Elementary building and relocate to a new addition at an existing facility. DLR Group will now go back to the drawing board and come back with four preliminary designs of additions to Fairview, Carroll Middle School, and the high school, as well as a design for a whole new high school building. The board members would like to note that this is all just a discussion at this point, and the district is not close to making any final decision soon. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more from the CCSD Board of Education work session in upcoming newscasts.
