Guthrie Center Man Facing Felony Charges For Following Police Officer Around With A Loaded Handgun

A Guthrie Center man is currently facing two felony counts for allegedly following a Stuart Police Officer to several locations with a loaded gun. According to Guthrie County District Court records, 48-year-old Brant Alan Grasty was taken into custody on Jan. 6 after allegedly following an officer around in Stuart to multiple locations, making threats that they “should be out of this world.” After Grasty was detained, a fully loaded 9mm handgun, and a full magazine was located inside his vehicle. Grasty was taken into custody for going armed with intent and threats of terrorism, both class D felonies. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Grasty was upset with the officer for a incident last September in Stuart, causing him to be convicted of disorderly conduct, a simple misdemeanor. Grasty posted a $10,000 bond on Jan. 9 and awaits his arraignment hearing on Feb. 10. If convicted, he could face up to ten years in prison and $15,000 in fines.
