Carroll County Conservation Starting Summer At Full Speed

If the first week of summer is any indication, Carroll County Conservation should expect a busy next few months. Conservation Education Coordinator, Kristen Bieret, says they kicked the season off unofficially at parks throughout the county during Memorial Day weekend, and they were all bustling.

The first of the popular youth summer camp programs begins today (Tuesday) for families who have registered, but Bieret says they are planning to provide as many opportunities as possible to get people out and into nature.

She adds they are using a new online system, known as Jotform, to streamline the registration process and payments for programs that come with a cost.

The campgrounds have been crowded for the last couple of weekends, and there has also been a large influx of daytime visitors to county parks. With so many people out, Bieret reminds motorists to slow down and focus on the road when traveling, especially around Swan Lake.

Carroll County Conservation’s full summer newsletter, including planned activities, registration info, and more, can be found included with this story on our website.
