Carroll Man Arrested After Allegedly Breaking Infant’s Leg And Toddler’s Hand

A Carroll man faces felony charges after allegedly seriously injuring an infant and toddler earlier this month. According to Carroll County District Court records, 28-year-old Eduardo Jose Olivo was taken into custody Friday, May 26 on two counts of child endangerment causing serious injury, class C felonies. A Carroll Police Department investigation found Olivo had allegedly broken the hand of a two-year-old child at approximately 11 p.m. on May 21 at his apartment in the 600 block of E. 18th Street in Carroll. Authorities say Olivo also admitted to striking a four-day-old infant in the leg around four hours later, resulting in a fracture to the baby’s left femur. As of this (Wednesday) morning, Olivo remains in custody at the Carroll County jail on a $2,000 bond. He faces a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison and $20,000 in fines if convicted of the charges.
