Manning Man Accused Of 2022 Vehicle Theft Arrested Sunday On Outstanding Warrant

A Manning man accused of stealing a pickup truck from a church parking lot near the end of last year was taken into custody this week on an outstanding arrest warrant. According to Carroll County District Court records, 37-year-old Michael William Alexander is charged with second-degree theft, a class D felony. A Manning Police Department affidavit alleges Alexander stole a 1996 Ford F150 from the Zion Lutheran Church on the evening of Nov. 30 or the morning of Dec. 1. The vehicle was located on Dec. 2 at a residence in Kirkman, and authorities traced the theft back to Alexander. He was released on his own recognizance Monday after appearing before a magistrate. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday, April 13. A class D felony in Iowa carries a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and $7,500 in fines.
