Audubon city officials held a special meeting earlier this week to address several items needing approval before the next council meeting. Items on the agenda were insurance renewal, accepting sewer infrastructure, and approval of an asbestos and demolition contractor. According to Administrator Joseph Foran, city officials typically only schedule special meetings if items have an atypical time constraint.
Foran says the demolition work is on the city’s eastern side in the 900 block of Broadway Street. The city owns the property being demolished, and Foran adds once the work is done, the parcel will then be listed for sale.
The bid was awarded to Peterson Fencing out of Atlantic for $30,000, including demolition work, expenses for hauling the materials, and landfill fees.
