Glidden city officials have approved a second reading for an ordinance concerning water services for customers outside city limits. According to Administrator Brooke Peterson, the city is not modifying the rates for residents outside of city limits.
Peterson notes no comments were received during this portion of the meeting. She says residents living outside Glidden already pay a higher rate compared to those in town.
Residents outside of city limits currently pay $15.435 per 1,000 gallons of water. Peterson says city officials have yet to waive the third reading, and the ordinance will appear for the final time at the next council meeting on Monday, March 28.
