Three local medical providers have made the list of 2023’s Great Iowa Nurses. Recipients are chosen based on their contributions to the nursing profession, commitment to patient care, leadership, and mentoring of younger professionals. Recipients from the area are: Cassandra Neumann, Audubon County Memorial Hospital; Christina Woerdehoff, St. Anthony Regional Hospital; and Jamie Wuebker, Carroll County Ambulance Service. These three are among only 77 Iowa nurses selected for recognition in 2023 and will be honored during a virtual ceremony planned for Feb. 15. The Great Iowa Nurses program was established in 2004 at the University of Iowa and continued until 2022. It was re-established in 2022 with support from Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
