Iowa Fuel Report: Prices Down Across The Board As Of Jan. 11

Fuel prices were down across the board last week, according to AAA-Iowa and the Iowa Department of Agriculture. As of Wednesday, Jan. 11, the cost of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.15 per gallon, a three-cent drop from last week and 10 cents lower than one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was down two cents to $3.27 per gallon. Iowa retail diesel dipped six cents to $4.20 per gallon, compared to $3.37 last year. Diesel prices nationwide averaged $4.63 per gallon. Wholesale ethanol held steady at $2.16. As for heating fuels, propane prices were down one cent to $1.93 per gallon, home heating oil dropped 15 cents to $3.50 per gallon, and natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site fell 28 cents to $3.36 per MMBtu.
